About Digital Dames

Jaclyn Hawtin and Mani O’Brien are Strategic Technology Consultants, passionate about empowering creative entrepreneurs to use technology to power their businesses. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, this dynamic duo met at the age of 12. Jaclyn and Mani have been using technology to build online business since they were teenagers and understand the challenges associated with running an online business. As founder of the San Francisco based full-service digital agency Tech Love, Jaclyn serves multiple clients and organizations, specializing in technology strategy for start-up ventures, international multilateral organizations and NGOs. Mani is the founder of fashion-focused marketing agency Social Media Republic based in Los Angeles specializing in brand journalism and social media marketing. Together, they’ve partnered up to create Digital Dames, a tech boot camp for bosses interested in bringing their online business to the next level.

How much previous coding or technical knowledge is required to attend?

There is no previous coding knowledge required for our bootcamp– just a willingness to learn! We will walk you through step-by-step, hands-on instruction to help you launch your online business and digital marketing tools.

Why is WordPress is the right choice for me?

There are many platforms available for building websites. It’s “never been easier” to manage your own website, and yet learning a new platform can be overwhelming. We are here to help. We believe that WordPress is the most secure and comprehensive platform available that allows you the most options to grow your website along with your business.

What do I need to bring to the workshop?

+A functioning laptop and charger

+Your Pre-Camp Worksheet which should include all of your usernames for your own quick reference, including:

++Your domain’s hosting account login

++Your WordPress theme files

++Your Mailchimp account login

++Your social media links

++All writing for your website’s pages – Homepage, About Page, Contact Page

++All photography that you’d like to use on your site

++Your company’s logo

We take your pre-camp preparation seriously, and you should, too. Together we are packing a TON of hands-on work into two days, so we do everything we can to prepare and get to know you pre-camp.

Do I have homework before I come?

Yes. Each participant gets the benefit of working directly with one of the Digital Dames instructors for a 30-minute strategy session during which you will get personalized instruction and guidance which helps you and your instructors prepare for the boot camp. Your homework includes our comprehensive pre-camp Q&A, and to purchase your domain, theme, images and to pre-write your website copy prior to attending.

What does the cost of the ticket include?

  • Professional headshots
  • Hands-on training. You’ll leave your bootcamp with a fully functioning website!
  • Copies of all of the presentations from the bootcamp about digital marketing strategies and best practices
  • Breakfast, lunch and snacks

I already have a domain and website started. Is this a problem?

Not a problem and good for you for being so proactive. Once you register, we will send you a personalized Pre-Camp Q&A to help us understand your digital marketing needs. We will send personalized instructions for anyone who many need extra homework ahead of time.

What makes this event different from other WordPress camps? Is this for me?

While other bootcamps are focused on the technical aspects of WordPress, this bootcamp is focused on your business. This bootcamp is for bosses, not coders. We distill the most relevant information into just what you need to manage your own online business.

What if I want to cancel my reservation?

In order to reserve your seat, we ask you to place a non-refundable deposit of $350 which includes your one-on-one strategy phone call with your Digital Dames instructors and helps us plan for catering, venue space and more. The remaining ticket cost is refundable at any time.

Do you offer discounts for referring a friend?

YES! You will receive $100 off of your registration for each friend that registers and attends the same workshop with you. The discount will be taken off of your final payment. Only one discount per 2 people. Email us at info@digitaldamecollective.com.
